 What is DTF Printing?

The benefits of using a DTF Printer. Digital t-shirt printing is one of the easiest ways to design and create custom apparel. There are two methods of printing when it comes to using a Dye Sublimation Film Press; the first being the screen roll process and the second being the dye transfer process. When you use a Dye Sublimation press to create DTF print you are able to produce photographic prints that can be produced on a large format canvas by using sublimation. This technology allows each roll of film to be coated with dye that is transparent allowing you to see through the image to create a brilliant and vivid print.

The process of creating a DTF Transfer Large Format Tee is simple. Firstly, choose a shirt size and create the image. After printing the image onto a large format piece of garment cloth, place your print out on the garment and outline the image where you want it on the garment. Using tracing paper, mark in the areas where you would like the outline to be.

The next step is to find yourself an ink jet or dye sublimation printing machine. These machines will offer you exceptional quality results when combined with the correct dye for dyes that you need for your Large Format Tee shirts. You will then place the shirt onto the ink jet printing machine. You will control the speed of the printing machine, whilst also setting the colour of the ink that you wish to use. Once you have completed this task, the machine will automatically generate the image as well as place it on the correct garment.

The next step is to place the garment onto the fabric textile printing machine large format dye sublimation printer direct feed system. Your Dye Destination Point (DDP) is the point at which the garment is loaded into the machine. This is the location where the printer directs the ink onto the garment. It is important to place the garment onto the DDP at a precise location to ensure the dye has been dissolved fully.

The last step is the DX7 printhead. The printhead is responsible for providing the image and ink onto the garments. It uses an extremely durable heat-shield to protect the image when transferring to the t-shirt. The t-shirt will be run through the printed several times to ensure the coating has been applied. The printer should indicate the number of times it will be run through the printhead.
