Which apron suits your business?
Commercial kitchens: a full bib apron in cotton drill or poly/cotton covers the chest and legs and stands up to daily hot washes. Choose one with a pocket for thermometers and pens.
Cafes and baristas: waist aprons and cross-back bibs keep staff looking sharp at the counter. Denim and canvas are popular because they hide coffee stains and soften with wear.

Apron FAQs
What is the difference between bib aprons and waist aprons?
Bib aprons start at the chest and run to the waist or knees, protecting your uniform from spills and splashes while cooking. Waist aprons start at the waist and cover only the front of the legs, so they suit serving staff, waiters and baristas who need less protection.
Do aprons have pockets?
Most do, but some styles are made without pockets because certain food handling roles require it. Pocket layout varies by brand and style, so check the product description and images.
Do all aprons come with straps?
Most do. Some cross-back aprons, such as the JB's Cross-Back Apron 5ACBB, are sold without straps so you can choose a strap colour to match your branding. The JB's Changeable Cross Back Straps 5ACBS come in 10 colours.
What sizes do aprons come in?
Most aprons are one size fits all. Some popular styles come in several sizes; for example the JB's Apron 5A comes in 65 x 71 cm, 86 x 93 cm and 86 x 50 cm.
What is a smock apron?
A smock apron is easy to put on and take off and protects the front and back of the wearer. Cleaning staff often wear one over a polo shirt.
What is a butcher's apron?
A striped apron worn while butchering. The navy and white JB's Butcher's Apron 5BA comes in 86 x 75 cm and a long 86 x 98 cm, in easy-care polyester/viscose twill.
How do I choose the right apron for my business?
For heavy kitchen use, choose canvas or a high-gsm polyester/cotton. If there is a lot of water and cleaning, a vinyl or PVC apron is better. Beyond that it comes down to comfort, colour and pockets. Contact us and we'll help you choose.
