How to choose women's workwear

• Cut and fit: pick a women's cut for a better fit through the waist, hip and shoulder, and check the size chart on each product page, because sizing varies between brands.
• Hi vis class: day-only (Class D) garments have no reflective tape. For low light or night work choose day/night (Class D/N) with tape. Hi vis garments are made to AS/NZS 4602.1 and the tape to AS/NZS 1906.4, so check the label against what your site or client requires.
• Fabric: cotton drill is durable and breathable for everyday site work. Ripstop weaves (Bisley X Airflow, Hard Yakka Edge) are lighter. Stretch fabrics such as Bisley Flex & Move suit climbing, kneeling and reaching. Cool-breeze and vented shirts help in the heat.
• Visibility below the waist: taped cargo pants and jeans (DNC with 3M or CSR tape, Bisley taped pants) keep you visible from head to boot.
• Weather: soft shell jackets for wind, 3-in-1 and 5-in-1 jackets for cold and rain.
• Footwear: work boots on site should meet AS/NZS 2210.3. Check the label for your site's toe cap and sole requirements.

What's the difference between women's workwear and unisex workwear?

Women's workwear is patterned for a woman's body: shaped through the waist and hip, with shoulders, sleeve length and rise in proportion. Unisex and men's garments use a straighter block, so they can gape, pull or ride up when you bend, reach or climb. If you're between sizes, check the size chart on the product page.

Do you have women's hi vis workwear?

Yes: hi vis shirts and polos, taped cargo pants and jeans, hi vis jackets, rain jackets and fleece hoodies from Bisley, KingGee, Hard Yakka and DNC. Choose taped styles for day/night use and check the label against your site's requirement.

Which fabric is best for hot weather?

Lightweight, ventilated fabrics: DNC cool-breeze cotton, KingGee Workcool and Bisley Cool Lightweight vented shirts, or ripstop. Cotton drill lasts longer but is heavier.
